I was an active participant / sometimes presenter of Kino Loop for since 2015, and co-organizer of Kino Loop Kabaret for the first 4 years it has ran. Kino Loop is a monthly event in which people are encouraged to organise and make their no budget films, and show them at the next event, projected in the iconic bar Loophole in Berlin. Kino Kabaret is the same thing, but reestricted to a few rounds (of 24 to 72 hours), in which people come from different countries to do short films quick, and screen them in cinemas around the city it takes place on.
It’s not about the quality of the films (of which often there is great quality given the constraints of the activity), but about the fact that anyone can try and do something fun and cool in a short amount of time, and everyone will get their creations screened in a cinema.
I have participated in a number of those flicks, in all capacities, both in Kino Loop and Kino Loop Kabaret, and so I’d like to share some of the ones I wrote for fun:
